Langley Hub presents: Swing From Paris
Saturday 21 March 2026
19:30 to 22:00
In collaboration with Culture in Common's New Forest Acting Up Programme, the Langley Hub is proud to host Swing From Paris. This all-string quartet take inspiration from the music of the 1930s, 40s and 50s, with their Parisian flavoured jazz and gypsy swing delighting audiences for over 15 years - from major jazz festivals including the Django Reinhardt Festival, to the BBC’s Hairy Bikers and even at the opening of the award-winning Gloucester Services!
Performing on violin, guitars and double bass, the quartet play a range of popular swing classics inspired by Gershwin, Edith Piaf, Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli and the master of tango, Astor Piazzolla, amongst others. Expect a variety of repertoire, interspersed with humour, storytelling and historical context, helping audiences to further appreciate the music.
“Their arrangements are consistently intelligent, interesting and inventive … a band that has managed to put its own stamp on the genre” ★ ★ ★ ★ The Jazz Mann
